Swatches: OPI Nicki Minaj Collection
Ok so finally I got my pretty polish fingers around the entire Nicki Minaj collection. This is a pic heavy post. I will go on record and say that I purchased this collection myself. Although I am not a Nicki fan, I am liking this collection. The collection is 6 colors three cremes, two glitters and a new shatter color. So enough of my rambling, here is the collection.
This one is Did It On 'Em. This is kinda similar to Who The Shrek Are You? but it's maybe a shade lighter. I liked this one. It is a great spring/summer color. It applied nicely. Being that it is a green polish, I thought it was interesting that OPI decided to name it Did It On 'Em, because if you've heard the original song that this polish was named for then you know that the original song is Sh*tted On 'Em. Lol. But however, I will be sporting this one this sandal season.
This is Fly. Fly is a teal creme polish. I love this color. It applied very even for me. I have other teal polishes but none like this. This is my favorite from the collection. I can see why OPI is always posting this one on their page. This is another sandal season color.
The Nicki Minaj collection also introduced a new shatter polish. Super Bass is a purple shatter. I was happy to add her to my collection of shatter shades. This is my first and only purple shatter shade. Here are the cremes with Super Bass on top and the song Super Bass.
The best part about shatter polishes is that they will never give you the same results as you can see. This song was playing in my head the entire I was swatching this polish.
This is Save Me. She is a silver bar glitter with a clear base. I wouldnt wear it alone, however layered as a accent nail makes it look great. This type of glitter is unique to my collection, I dont own any bar glitters. It is very pretty and as you can see it accents very well with all the creme colors.
Metallic 4 Life is a silver hexagon glitter with a black base. At first I thought it could be layered, however it cant. Lol. I really like this one. I dont have anything in my collection like this. The formula is really good. It went on easy considering most polishes with this much glitter can be kind of gel like. But this one wasnt. It is sheer with one coat, this is two and it still kind of sheer.
Overall, I like this collection. The colors were very cute with the exception of one. Lol. The collection is now available in stores. They are great for the spring/summer season. I already have tomorrow's mani picked out using one of the polishes from this collection.
First up is the name sake for Nicki's album.
This is Pink Friday. She is a creme bubblegum pink. I love pink, but I wasnt too crazy about this one. I didnt like the way it applied. It was like it was too much on the brush or something. It streaked a little when I was applying it. The color is ok. This one I will say is my least favorite of the collection. I used two coats for this one. This one is Did It On 'Em. Last but not least are the glitters. Save Me & Metallic 4 Life.
